Recently, ECMI’s research and innovation committee agreed to establish a special interest group on ‘Modeling, Simulation and Optimization in Electrical Engineering’ (for short: MSOEE). The 20th European Conference on Mathematics for Industry concluded on June, 22nd in Budapest, Hungary. The conference series is devoted to enforce the interaction between academy and industry, leading to innovations in both fields. These events have attracted leading experts from business, science and academia, and have promoted the application of novel mathematical technologies to industry. My PhD thesis “Multiscale Modeling and Multirate Time-Integration of Field/Circuit Coupled Problems
” has been awarded an honorable mention at the 17th European Conference on Mathematics for Industry 2012 in Lund, Sweden. The price was announced by the Associazione Angelo Marcello Anile and the European Consortium for Mathematics in Industry (ECMI).
Sascha Baumanns and I are organizing a mini-symposium “New Methods for Time Integration of EM Problems and Multiphysics” at the ECMI 2012 conference in Lund, Sweden. It takes place on Tuesday, 2012-07-24, 14:30-16:30 in the room MH:362D. See the program for details.
The proceedings of the ECMI 2010 (16-th European Conference on Mathematics for Industry) with the title “Progress in Industrial Mathematics at ECMI 2010” have been published by Springer, Berlin Heidelberg. It covers of a wide range of applications and methods, from circuit and electromagnetic device simulation to model order reduction for chip design, uncertainties and stochastics, production, fluids, life and environmental sciences, and dedicated and versatile methods. The final proofs of the ECMI 2010 proceedings “Progress in Industrial Mathematics at ECMI 2010” have been sent to Springer. The publication is scheduled for March 2012, see Springer’s website.
Today was the last day of the 16th European Conference on Mathematics for Industry that took place
in the Historische Stadthalle in Wuppertal. As a member of the working group of applied math and numerical anaylsis, I was part of the local organizing committee.
My institute organizes from July 26-30, 2010 the next European Conference on Mathematics for Industry (ECMI). The conference is following up ECMI – 2008 in London, UK. As all ECMI conferences, ECMI 2010 will emphasize the role of mathematics as a unique overarching industrial resource.
The registration is open from January, 10th.
